Example of comparison
Mt 6: 13 NCV: ". ..lead us not into temptation." CUV: "... lead us not to face temptation" The CUV team had wrongly translated the preposition "to face or to meet (遇见)" for "into (陷入)", making the phrase mean "lead us not to face or to meet temptation (不叫我们遇见试探)". It is a reality that we, human beings are all susceptible to (to face or to meet) temptation. Even Jesus was so and was once led by the Holy Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. It may be true that we are being tempted on a daily basis, however, it is not necessary the case that we give in to it when we are being tempted. In other words, what Jesus taught here is not for us to seek abstinence from being tempted (which unfortunately the CUV team had wrongly put it), but rather abstinence from sin when being tempted. Sadly enough, many Christians would blame God for not listening to their prayers when they meet with temptation.
