遠志明曾堅信馬克思主義， 曾在中國人民大學教授馬克思主義。他因參與撰寫「河殤」電視集而出名。1989 「六四」民運後，他被流放海外。 先到法國，再來美國。 1990年當他還是普敦大學訪問學者時，他受洗成為基督徒。1992年進入神學院裝備。 釵h海外中國教會邀請他在佈道會講道， 神幫助他帶領陶多多中國人，尤其知識分子信主。他現在是神州傳播協會主編。他寫的書中， 以「神州慚悔錄」最為知名（已製作成電視片， 清參見目錄）。神州傳播協會於2002年將他的見證與佈道製作成12集VCD 和錄音帶 ﹕

Brother Yuan Zhi-ming was a zealous Marxist, who taught Marxism at the People's University in PRC. He is well-known among Chinese as one of the playwrights for the famous TV Series "He Shang". He was exiled overseas after the June 4 Pro-Democracy Movement in 1989. He first went to France and then came to the USA. While a visiting scholar at Princeton University in 1990, he accepted Jesus as his personal savior. In 1992, he enrolled in seminary.

Many Chinese churches have invited him to be the main speaker at crusades. His testimony has led thousands of Chinese who once supported Marxism to Christ. Now he is the editor-in-chief of "China Soul For Christ Foundation" (Shen Zhou). He has written 7 books about Christianity, the most famous one being the book (also available as a video) called "China Confession" (please see our catalogue for more info, as well as info on "Lao Zi and the Bible").

Now the "China Soul For Christ (Shen Zhou)" media organization has released 15 of his testimonies and crusade sermons in Mandarin in VCD and audio tape format at a very low price. The series is called "Why I believe in Jesus." and is available now in two sets of three audio tapes and four sets of VCD. Each session is 60 minutes long. They are wonderful gospel material to bring back to China or to share with people from China. The titles are as follows:
